With Sadness, we announce the passing of Randy Moy
It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Randy Moy, a great father and coach and a man who truly dedicated himself to the sport of hockey.
Randy was loved and respected for his passion for the game and was always eager to share his enthusiasm for hockey with anyone he would meet. Our sincere condolences go out to his family and friends. We will miss him dearly but will strive to honor his legacy in all that we do.
Randy joined the San Diego Jr. Gulls in 2006 and since that time has coached countless players at all levels of hockey with many of his players, including his two children, advancing to the college and the professional ranks. Randy was the first to volunteer to help the Jr. Gulls whenever needed including a term as the Club President. His involvement with San Diego hockey goes back over 40 years to when he was an assistant coach of the NCAA USIU DI hockey team.
Randy’s impact on hockey in San Diego cannot be understated and we will be forever grateful for his contribution to the San Diego Jr. Gulls and to the game of hockey. He will be missed, but his spirit and teachings will live on through his players.
Randy is survived by his wife, Susanna, and two children, Tyler and Keely.
To celebrate Randy’s life and commitment to San Diego hockey we are inviting you to send us photos of him that will be posted on our website. Please send to Tori Riley.
